Terms of Use

Public beta · Version 2026-07-15-beta-2 · Effective 15 July 2026

Important beta and content notice

CAST is an experimental service. It may contain errors, become unavailable, lose or reset beta data, change substantially, or be suspended or discontinued at any time. Stories and other outputs may be generated or assisted by artificial intelligence and can be inaccurate, unexpected, embarrassing, upsetting or otherwise uncomfortable. Review the separate Content Notice before using CAST.

These terms do not exclude any consumer or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern access to CAST and its group invitations, private voting, generated stories, episode memory and related beta features (“CAST” or the “Service”). By selecting the acceptance boxes and continuing, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Operator and contact

CAST is currently operated as an independent beta project based in Luxembourg (“CAST”, “we”, “us”). Support, safety reports, privacy requests and legal notices may be sent to castapp.team@gmail.com.

CAST is not represented as an incorporated company. Full legal operator and service-address information must be added before paid commercial service is activated.

2. Eligibility: this beta is 18+

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to accept these Terms. Do not use CAST for or on behalf of a child. We may ask for reasonable age confirmation and may close access if we reasonably believe this requirement is not met.

3. Experimental beta

You understand that CAST is still being tested. Features may be incomplete, unreliable or removed. Links, accounts, votes, stories, audio, video, purchases and episode memory may fail or be lost. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, a particular release date, compatibility with every device, or that beta data will remain available.

We may impose limits, reset test data, change providers, pause registrations or discontinue all or part of the beta. Where reasonably possible, we will give notice of a material planned change, but urgent safety, legal or technical action may happen without advance notice.

4. Accounts and private invitations

You are responsible for access to your email, device and account. Do not impersonate another person, claim another member’s place, bypass access controls, or share a private invitation outside its intended group. Anyone holding a valid invitation link may be able to request access, so treat links as confidential.

Anonymous beta access may be tied to one device or browser and may not be recoverable.

5. Your content and information about other people

“User Content” includes names, group labels, votes, prompts, feedback and anything else you submit. You retain any rights you have in your User Content. You grant CAST a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, copy, process, adapt, generate from, display to authorised group members and transmit User Content only as reasonably needed to operate, secure and improve the Service. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for limited backups, legal records and content already lawfully shared by you.

Group creators choose only the number of participants. Unclaimed participants appear as anonymous avatar slots. You may enter a display name only for yourself, after accepting the current Terms and Privacy Policy and making the separate private-participation confirmation. Do not enter another person’s name, claim their slot, impersonate them or submit information about a non-user.

Your required private-participation confirmation asks CAST to use your chosen display name, avatar and votes inside the invited group and its fictional episodes. Permission to use that name and avatar in a downloadable or public-facing export is a separate, optional choice that is off by default and can be withdrawn. No photo, face scan or voice upload is used in the current avatar-only beta.

Do not submit sensitive details, private accusations, intimate information or content that could put someone at risk. A display name must not falsely suggest that a real person joined or approved the story.

6. AI-generated entertainment

CAST outputs are fictionalised entertainment based on group inputs and automated rules or artificial intelligence. An output is not a factual statement, personality test, diagnosis, professional advice, or reliable assessment of any person. It may invent connections, misread context, repeat bias, or produce an unpleasant surprise.

CAST labels generated stories and exported videos as AI-generated fiction. You must not remove, hide or contradict that disclosure when sharing an output.

You are responsible for reviewing an output before downloading, publishing, acting on or sharing it. Do not present generated content as verified fact or use it to make decisions about health, safety, employment, education, credit, housing, legal rights or another high-impact matter.

7. Safety and acceptable use

You may not use CAST to:

Use the in-product “Report content” control or email castapp.team@gmail.com. Reports may concern privacy, harassment, minors or potentially unlawful content. Include the group code only if safe to do so; do not submit passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.

8. Sharing, downloads and publicity

Private group access does not give you permission to publish another person’s name, image, voice, vote or story. CAST exports automatically replace the chosen name and avatar of a participant who has not granted the separate public-export permission with an anonymous slot. Do not reverse that protection, add the person’s identity manually or present private-group material as their public statement.

Public-export permission only governs CAST’s automated export. You remain responsible for checking the complete output, respecting any affected person’s rights and complying with the destination platform’s rules before posting to TikTok or another service.

9. CAST intellectual property

The CAST name, interface, visual system, software, templates and original service materials belong to the operator or its licensors. These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the beta for its intended personal purpose; they do not transfer ownership of CAST.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what data is processed, why, for how long, who receives it and how to exercise data-protection rights. Privacy acknowledgement is separate from agreement to these Terms.

11. Payments and consumer rights

The current public beta does not activate a live subscription checkout inside the app. A charge must not be taken unless the operator’s mandatory identity and contact information, price, product, applicable taxes, renewal or cancellation terms, accepted payment methods and the required consumer information are shown before purchase. Additional paid-service terms must be presented at checkout.

The Vault — Party Kit (digital download). The one-time digital kit shown on this site is sold through Gumroad, Inc., acting as the merchant of record. Price, applicable taxes, invoicing, delivery of the download, refunds and any consent regarding the loss of the withdrawal right for digital content delivered immediately are presented and handled in the Gumroad checkout under Gumroad’s terms. For purchase support, contact castapp.team@gmail.com or use Gumroad’s buyer support. The kit is a fictional party game for ages 16+; the house rules inside the kit (no real accusations, veto at any time, nothing leaves the group) are part of its intended use.

Nothing in these Terms removes mandatory consumer rights. Where a legal withdrawal right applies to digital content or services, any request to begin performance immediately and any acknowledgement concerning loss of withdrawal rights must be obtained separately at checkout.

12. Suspension, removal and ending use

You may withdraw optional public-export permission in “Manage my privacy”. A non-host may remove their participation, which replaces their identity with the anonymous slot. A host’s removal request deletes the group series because the Service cannot continue that series without its host. Account-level requests may be sent to the privacy contact.

We may restrict or close access, remove content, invalidate an invitation or preserve limited relevant records where reasonably necessary for safety, security, legal compliance, non-payment, breach of these Terms or protection of other users. We will act proportionately where the circumstances allow.

13. Responsibility, disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the beta is provided “as available” and without promises beyond those expressly stated. You remain responsible for your User Content, group invitations, interpretation of results and anything you publish.

We do not exclude or limit liability where doing so is unlawful, including liability for fraud, deliberate misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable. Subject to those mandatory protections, CAST is not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable loss, lost opportunity, reputational harm caused by user sharing, or loss caused by use outside the Service’s intended entertainment purpose.

14. Changes to these Terms

The version and effective date appear at the top. If a change is material, CAST will require acceptance of the new version before further use; silence or a preselected box will not count as acceptance. Older versions and acceptance timestamps may be retained where reasonably needed to demonstrate what was agreed.

15. Applicable law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Luxembourg law, without taking away any mandatory protection or right to bring proceedings available to a consumer under the law of their country of residence. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern informally.
