Terms of Use

Version 2026-07-18 · Effective 18 July 2026

What this site is

castvault.net is the home of CAST. Right now it does two things: it lets you buy The Vault — Party Kit (a digital download) and it lets you join a waitlist to hear when the CAST app launches. The app is still in development and is not yet available. This site may change, be updated or be taken offline at any time.

These terms do not exclude any consumer or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the castvault.net website, the launch waitlist and the purchase of The Vault — Party Kit (together, the “Service”). By using the site, joining the waitlist or buying the kit, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Operator and contact

CAST is currently operated as an independent project based in Luxembourg (“CAST”, “we”, “us”). Support, privacy requests and legal notices may be sent to team@castvault.net.

CAST is not represented as an incorporated company. Full legal operator and service-address information will be added before any subscription or account-based commercial service is activated.

2. Eligibility

You must be legally able to accept these Terms. The Vault — Party Kit is intended for players aged 16 or older. You are responsible for deciding whether the kit is suitable for the people you play it with.

3. The waitlist

If you join the waitlist, you give us an email address and your chosen interface language so we can tell you when the CAST app launches and share related news about CAST. We use that email only for those messages. You can ask us to remove you at any time by emailing team@castvault.net, and every message will include a way to unsubscribe. We do not sell your email or share it for advertising. See the Privacy Policy for details.

4. The Vault — Party Kit (digital download)

The Vault — Party Kit is a one-time digital download sold through Gumroad, Inc., which acts as the merchant of record. This means Gumroad handles the checkout, price, applicable taxes and invoicing, delivery of the download files, and refunds, under Gumroad’s own terms and privacy policy. Any consent about beginning delivery immediately and, where a legal withdrawal right applies to digital content, any acknowledgement about the loss of that right, is presented and collected by Gumroad at checkout.

For help with a purchase you can contact team@castvault.net or use Gumroad’s buyer support. The kit is delivered as downloadable files (PDF guides, printable cards and a short video). You receive a personal, non-transferable right to download and use the kit to play with your own group. You may not resell it, redistribute the files publicly, or present them as your own product.

5. Acceptable use of the kit

The Vault is a fictional party game built around light, self-directed confessions. Its house rules are part of how it is meant to be used: every confession is about yourself, never a real accusation about someone else; anyone can pass or veto any prompt at any time, no questions asked; and what is shared in the game stays in the group. Play it only with people who want to play. Do not use the kit to bully, expose, pressure, humiliate or harm anyone, and do not use it to share another person’s private information. The game is entertainment — it is not therapy, diagnosis or professional advice.

6. Acceptable use of the site

Do not attempt to break, overload, scrape or probe the site or its security, submit false or someone else’s personal data to the waitlist, or use the site for unlawful activity. We may restrict access or remove data where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance or protection of the Service and its users.

7. Intellectual property

The CAST name, The Vault, the site, its visual system, the kit contents and original materials belong to the operator or its licensors. Buying the kit gives you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use it for personal play; it does not transfer ownership. Do not copy, republish or create competing products from these materials without permission.

8. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we process (mainly your waitlist email and standard technical logs), why, for how long, who receives it and how to exercise your data-protection rights.

9. The future app

References on this site to a CAST app, a subscription or future features describe something still in development. They are not an offer or a promise that any particular feature, price or release date will be delivered. When the app becomes available it will have its own terms, which you will be asked to review and accept before using it, and no charge will be taken until that separate purchase flow, with all required pre-purchase information, is shown.

10. Responsibility, disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the site and waitlist are provided “as available” and without promises beyond those expressly stated. You are responsible for how you and your group use the kit. We do not exclude or limit liability where doing so is unlawful, including for fraud, deliberate misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable. Subject to those mandatory protections, CAST is not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable loss, or for harm arising from use of the kit outside its intended entertainment purpose or contrary to its house rules.

11. Changes to these Terms

The version and effective date appear at the top. We may update these Terms; the current version always applies to your continued use of the site. Purchases already completed through Gumroad remain governed by the terms shown at the time of that purchase.

12. Applicable law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Luxembourg law, without taking away any mandatory protection or right to bring proceedings available to a consumer under the law of their country of residence. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern informally.
